Trump Style- Instead of failed vanity projects, can’t he just run the country and stop the war?

It started with the Rose Garden revamp that paved over a large portion of the iconic landscape. Then we had the ballroom build that saw the leveling of the East Wing of the White House, a national historical monument that was demolished without going through the proper approvals designed to protect its history. We had Trump’s sycophants add his name to the Kennedy Center only to have it ordered removed again due to a ruling from a federal judge who cited that the add-on did not have the proper approvals.

I’m sensing a theme here.

Then there was the US Mall Reflecting Pool.

The Rose Garden could be argued there was a need because it was difficult for female ceremony attendees to walk on the grass in heels.

You could argue we need the ballroom for state dinners as there was not an adequate hosting space. Why we couldn’t have built it somewhere else on the 18 acres of property I don’t know. But they didn’t ask me.

The Kennedy Center narcissism I have no explanation for.

The reflecting pool did have issues with leaks and algae buildup and was in need of repairs but not a complete remodel. Obama’s administration spent $35 million to repair the issues but those fixes were not successful. Trump said they had project bids as high as $350 million and taking more than three years to complete. He has not produced the evidence.

He said he could have it done for $1.8 million and finished in a week.

And then his administration brought in a freaking swimming pool contractor on a no-bid contract.

What could go wrong?

Well it’s unclear if Trump’s buddy was the contractor as he’s told multiple stories. What we do know is that the general manager for Trump National Golf Course was in on the planning. The timeline went from a week to a month. Still really freaking fast. The cost ballooned from $1.8 million to nearly $14 million. The “Old Glory Blue” painted on the bottom prevents the pool from accomplishing its purpose of reflecting the Lincoln and Washington Monuments. Y’all, it’s right there in the name! The swimming pool lining used on the bottom has already degraded after only two weeks and is floating to the surface in chunks. And the algae is worse than ever, covering the surface of the pool in green scum that workers are trying to clean by pouring gallon jugs of hydrogen peroxide in the 2,030 x 167 foot pool.

And now we have the 250 foot Triumphal Arch, humorously dubbed the “Arc d’Trump”, which has received final design approval. Paris has an arch so why shouldn’t we? It matters not that its mere size will interfere with the site line of the other monuments.

God help us.

And, no, he has not received the appropriate approvals for construction.

What I really want right now is for him to reduce the size of his ego enough to get us out of the war in Iran. We have a memorandum of understanding but as with every other time we’ve been close to an end, Israel bombed Lebanon again and Iran is like, “Nah, we’re good,” and slammed the door on the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump needs to stop with his vanity projects and tell our so-called ally Netanyahu to stop mucking up our peace deal. If he is our friend, who needs an enemy?

I will give a little bit of credit that gas prices are coming down as is inflation but everything is still too damn expensive and a lot of us are working two jobs to make ends meet.

He needs to stop going after his political enemies with the Department of Justice and his bad media coverage with the FCC. He needs to give us back the Department of Defense because the Department of War just lost this war.

And he needs to stop spending our money trying to prop up his legacy.

Mr Trump, I have news for you! Your legacy sucks so give me back my money!

I am so tired of his total disregard for everything he promised and his complete disrespect for those of us who voted for him. He needs to stop with these inane projects and just run the country. We’re all really tired right now and need some relief from the madness.
