Opinions and outtakes on today’s news

Stylish Accessories- Trump’s knife in the back is not a bad thing.

Tucker Carlson was a vital force in getting Trump elected in 2024. His 22 million followers were key to an election win. He was seen palling around with Trump, showing up at UFC fights by his side. He had the ear of the once and future president.

And then he spoke out against the war in Iran. And suddenly he was an awful person with a low IQ, per Trump.

This past week, on his broadcast, Tucker was having a conversation with is son, Buckley, who just left his position within the administration, and Tucker expressed his regrets about his role in the election.

“You know, we’ll be tormented by it for a long time – I will be. And I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people. It was not intentional, that’s all I’ll say, “said Tucker.

Marjorie Taylor Green received similar treatment when she tried to hold Trump to his campaign promise of transparency when it came to the release of the Epstein files. He called her a traitor among other nasty things.

When Elon exited his post with DOGE, he came out publicly against Trump’s Big, Beautiful Bill saying that it was bad fiscal policy and “an abomination”. He and Trump then began a social media pissing contest where they traded insults for weeks. They were once inseparable until they could no longer stand each other.

Megyn Kelly stood at one of Trump’s final campaign rallies in 2024 and publicly supported him, bringing most of her millions of listeners with her. And, like Tucker, when she opposed the Iran War, she became persona non grata and another “low IQ individual” according to Trump. This past week on her show, she said, “When I voted for him, I thought he couldn’t be bought and then he was bought”. She went on to say that he is thin-skinned and unable to take a challenge, turning on those who would dare to question one of his decisions.

What we see here is a pattern of immaturity from our president that says if you disagree with him or challenge him, you’re out. There is no grace, there is no forgiveness. It’s why we see the nauseating press conferences during cabinet meetings where everyone tells the world how wonderful he is.

We know that JD Vance expressed his concerns with the war as well, but publicly he is supporting Trump’s position. Why? Because if he doesn’t, he’ll be banished like Mike Pence to political purgatory. With that said, he’s been sent to lead the negotiating delegation with Iran where I believe Trump is setting him up to fail. You cannot oppose the president without consequences.

When you have a leader who refuses to deal in opposing points of view you have one who will never see his own failures. You will have a leader who is more interested in his legacy than in doing the right thing. What he doesn’t see in this scenario though is that his legacy becomes shit because his actions are about building himself up over doing what is best for the people.

All of us have a responsibility to call out despots who refuse to see their own missteps. We can do it through withholding our support. We can do it through posts like this one. We can do it by following those who have the intestinal fortitude to stand up publicly. If we put enough pressure or scream loud enough, someone will listen. Of course, if you’re Trump, you’re probably donning your noise-canceling headphones that are playing on repeat the mantra of how incredible you are.

And for those who have reversed their position now, I say welcome to the club. Those of us on similar journeys are glad to have you. Oh, and the knife in your back matches your shoes- be proud of it.
