A narcissist is defined as a person who has an excessive interest in or admiration of themselves. We’ve seen a lot of narcissistic behavior this year but I’ve narrowed it down to, in my humble opinion, the top five of 2025. So let’s check them out.
5. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos. Jeff Bezos has an estimated net worth of $240 billion. Earlier this year, he married Lauren Sanchez in a lavish weekend extravaganza filled with A-list celebrities, all converging on Venice, Italy. The approximate cost? $45-55 million. I don’t fault anyone who has made a fortune for living well. You earned it so spend it however you want. What I do fault is the apparent lack of any charitable endeavors. Even giving a small fraction of the billions could benefit so many and still leave you plenty to flaunt. So what do ol’ Jeff and Lauren do with their charity? They buy the Met Gala. And before you say the gala is indeed a charity event, let me tell you what it raises funds for- the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Department which buys fashion exhibits for the museum with no money going to any other need. Meanwhile, the gala does nothing more than highlighting over-bearing celebrities in over-the-top fashion. Way to provide for those in need.
4. Gayle King. You know her! She’s the number one bestie of Oprah. You seldom see them apart. Except earlier this year when Ms Gayle launched into space with the aforementioned Bezos affianced in a rocket funded by the aforementioned Bezos. I mean Elon rescues the astronauts from the space station and Bezos sends the glam squad to space. Does silicone float in zero gravity? Anyway, back to The Big G. Upon her return, when questioned, she went on a tirade about how she was now an astronaut and we can’t say differently because we haven’t been to space. Honey, your entire trip lasted ten. minutes with you actually in zero gravity for a total of four. Put that up against the likes of Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, and John Glenn and tell me if you still deserve that moniker. Your head must have grown while you were up there, babe.
